It's great the way you are able to come home from a sketch outing, and keep right on working. After I go out to sketch, I'm not good for anything except for sitting in my easy chair in front of the TV when I get home. Well, sometimes I have enough energy to order more art supplies...
I love all the work you did there and the final compilation piece. It's always so nerve wracking when people notice and then worse when they come over! Lol. I always want to get one of those working dog vests but mine will say, DON'T COME OVER! ARTIST AT WORK.
I love your sketches. Too funny that everyone noticed. Did anyone complain? Were they upset? And I have had an injured tail bone for several weeks. No Fun! Protect those tushies!
My friend and I had one lady apologise to us for being in the way,we told her we loved her jumper and we could draw her but she was too shy,I think it is better on your own sometimes conversation wise
This may be a silly question, but are the coffee shop sketches meant to help you just practice drawing what you see, getting more people practice, and/or is your plan to make these into a finished piece some day? Maybe all of the above? And let us know if yall ever want more company; I am local and would love to join you! 😆
I'm not sure where they will go - if I'll turn them into complete paintings or not. It's important to just keep your skills sharp - keep looking, keep the hands moving, stretch yourself, get out of the house, etc.
It's so lovely to see the sketches you made. I'm still so anxious about sketching out in public, but I'm determined to overcome that this year. I did a small sketch in the library last week, but I only had a few minutes so didn't really get much down. I love the painting you made from all your 'notes', I love the idea of combining them like that.
I've never had it be like it was that day. People are just curious
I love how you compiled all of the little sketches into a ‘final’ piece. Just gorgeous! What were the older ladies’ reactions to the sketches?
they liked them!!!!
I have yet to watch the video but I love your synopsis of the day, Sandi. Looking forward to viewing after my work day.
oh good! that will be a nice "reward" for the day!
That sounds funny, for a photographer
I love this! That's a great idea compiling it all together like that. I have yet to venture out to sketch but this makes me want to :).
Hi Sandi! I love this new format!
I'm so glad Debbie - I'm LOVING it too!

Well, I eat lunch and then I do take a nap but then I'm excited to get back to working while I still have memories of the place
Love your figures.
thank you Karen!

yessssssss! but I feel like a sign like that would then tempt people to come over 😂
Ah yes people can’t help but be nosy sometimes and it throws off my whole focus as well . “ Move along folk’s , nothin to see here !”
yesssss 😂

nope no one complained
They must not have been in witness protection!
So funny about the terrible seats. They want people to hurry away I guess. Fun though!!
I think that's the point too

yes, I've thought about just asking people if I could sketch them

Artist’s sketching tip: bring a box of Kleenex, fake blow your nose and scatter the “used” Kleenex around your table. Fake cough for added effect.

it takes time and practice to get over the nerves. I still get nervous sometimes too
