It wasn't difficult at all. I wasn't try to replicate it - just using it as inspiration to paint it in my own style

Wow!!! Thank you Sandi for bringing us along - that looks like a wonderful museum and I’m so glad you returned for a second visit. The children’s portrait is a beautiful painting, but I think your version is an absolute gem - so genuine and lively and exciting, not just as a work of art, but inspiring to me as an aspiring artist. Your ideas and suggestions for approaching artistic practice are always so encouraging. This was delightful!

AH! Sandi, I love the painting with the dog - did you end up using acrylic gouache on it? Love the texture - and if so, it seems to be “watered” down a bit - I like the brushy/streakiness of the paint. Inspiring, as ALWAYS.

I think I used Flashe paint - which is basically acrylic gouache

You are lucky your museum allows colored materials. My local museum only lets you sketch in pencil. You really captured how protective the little girl is of her rabbit in the drawing based on that painting with the boy and the dog. I think she's protecting the rabbit against the boy who is holding a hunting bow in the picture.

I feel like the dog and rabbit are having a little conversation 😂

The painting is amazing, love the girl with the rabbit 🐇 you really capture their "antique style"!

I love the blue shoe too. I forgot to put her blue hair bows in though - I'm going to have to paint it again just to do those
