I LOVE and eagerly await your posts! I check this Substack and watch, however, for some strange reason, I cannot see the video in “large” format. When I turn my iPhone to the side, your video stays small. It’s just so difficult for me to “see” your amazing and inspiring work. 😔

I feel like there's a reason for that but I can't remember. have you tried viewing them in the substack app? wonder if that would be better

That’s what I’m using, the Substack app on my iPhone. Oh well. It’s okay. I’ll survive! I just LOVE your work, and your “you” so much! You are a serendipitous artist, Sandi!

Don't use the app, just follow the email link, on browser, then it works. It happened for me as well when I tried app.

On my Mac laptop I am able to zoom out the video so that it nearly fills the entire screen. I don't know if that might work on an iPhone and iPad...but just use your fingers to widen the video and see if it works for you.

It happens to me too, only can see the videos in a small format :( but better small than nothing! 🥰

I’ve tried everything to ‘fix’ this issue. Nothing works. Any ideas 💡 from anyone else?

also try going straight to it via my website - so you'd be viewing it as a web page

works really well on the substack website on a computer. Maybe try that?

I like seeing it big also!

I just began my journey using oil pastels! I’m loving the play! I bought Mungyo Gallery (50) off of TEMU, and I have low odor mineral spirits in a really tiny Mason jar (from Walmart). I also keep Q-Tips in another one of the really tiny Mason jars. I’m having a ball playing with these!!!

ohhhhh FUN!

Yay, I was just wondering about mineral spirits with oil pastels and maybe with my water soluble oil pastels! I am curious if it would make the pages less messy and sticky?! I might need to try!

I love the idea of freezing oil pastels for location drawing. Pastel-cicles will be perfect for this Tennessee heat! Thank you for the tip. 😁

YES, I'm looking forward to trying it too. I just fear I'll forget them in the freezer though

Love these Sandi! Big fan of 'Little Women' so these make my day 😊 You have captured them so beautifully in your particular style. It really brings them to life! It's hard to pick a favourite I love them all! The first and second one I particularly love😍 I am finding your watercolour explorations so interesting as I will be going back to my watercolour soon so it's very helpful to see your process. Really appreciate you sharing your findings your always so generous and your work is so joyful!🤗

thank you Jacquetta!!!! I'm really enjoying getting back to watercolors!

I love the deep colors in these Little Women paintings -- the candles and green walls in the scene with the flag especially! I’ve always wanted to paint scenes from Hitchcock’s Vertigo, in particular the flower shop and graveyard full of plants and hedges.

These are really nice, Sandi! I think my favorite parts are the wallpaper and the candles. I also totally love the brushstrokes in the dark green foliage. You're learning so much from all this! Thanks so much for sharing it with us.

Thank you so much Sandi, your work is always inspirational. It's so interesting to hear your thought processes as you discuss each painting. My favourite is the one with the girl with pigtails, but they are all brilliant, especially the monochrome sketch above which you found in another sketchbook dated June 17 (?) 2023.

These are wonderful! I am also inspired by Emma Carlisle, but also by you! For the oil pastels, have you thought of freezing them and putting them in an insulated lunch carrier? Thank you so much for sharing.🌺
