Watch now (12 mins) | So sorry I’ve been absent for so long - as I said in the last post, it’s been a very busy summer. We just launched the new Painting Birds Class!!!! We’ve been hearing great feedback about it and I’m excited to share it here with you. Here’s the link to find out ALL about the class…
“For me though, I want to see more than the details.” Oh Sandi, what glorious words. That is exactly what I’m going for. I am also moved by your suggestion of rekindling the childhood approach to art. My self esteem tanked early in my childhood yet I firmly believe there was a point where I was truly innocent and saw my efforts as beautiful things to be appreciated and not denigrated. Thank you for sharing this with us. Sending love and light from here. ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🖤🤎🤍🩶
OMGoodness, you explained that so well. that's what I love about art, what it conveys. Realistic is a photograph, and I love looking at photographs. But, when I look at a painting or when I paint, I want to convey a feeling, a moment in time, a thought, or even sometimes just an emotion or action. Then it's color and composition, Not exact perspectives... I totally understand
Hi, Sandi! I was literally hanging on every word of this video. I'm a longtime follower who values your thoughts and ideas about art very highly, and this video made them clearer to me. Thanks!!
It’s more than just birds. The techniques, exercises and projects are great for all kinds of subjects. I love that your bird references are truly a reference with your style as the main highlight. I found an aquarium fish book that I’m going to use as a reference. Oh the colors!
I am so excited for your bird class! I've asked for my partner to purchase your landscape class as my birthday gift this year, but now I'm torn!
Also, I injured my hand recently from overuse, and re-watching your videos on YouTube has helped me embrace painting in a different way while my hand heals. So, thank you very much for keeping me inspired and playful. :)
So inspiring! I loved watching my nephew paint with my brush pens in each hand and just enjoy putting down color and mixing them together. It gave me life!
P.S. The bird class looks brilliant and your Snoopy shirt made me smile big time!
I have just purchased your birds class and I'm really happy. That happiness comes from the inspiration you give. You truly pour yourself into your work and you embody your videos heart and soul. That speaks to me as much as your art speaks to me.
I write this now to you with much gratitude and warm regards.

This looks like the best class! I am in Australia so the US dollar doesn’t work in my favour, but this is firmly on my list alongside your landscape class. Congratulations Sandi! Well done on launching this new class.
I feel as you Sandi; loose/abstract approach to art-creating really speaks to me at a much deeper level. It’s the reason I treasure kids’ artwork, including my own, lol
New Class & How To "Say" More In Your Art
