I’m so glad I made myself get out and enjoy this beautiful day! It was CRAZY windy but sunny and warm. At the Cheekwood gardens there’s a large mansion on the property and I’ve never been in it, but they have a big orchid display so I thought I’d go check it out and sketch. I hardly sketched the orchids 😂 but I sketched everything else. Below are the sketches I did there but first I’ll show you some pics of the place. I LOVED this pink room with the blue ceiling!
This potter was also so nice (I sketched it). Look at the man’s head for the spout! So cool but also slightly creepy 😂.
They also have an art gallery there and I enjoyed looking at all the art. This one of this woman really caught my eye so I stood and did a quick sketch of it. The security guard in the room had a big smile on his face when I was done sketching - I think he enjoyed watching me in my element!
Then I went outside and did some sketching of the property. There’s a balcony there that I love to stand and sketch from over looking this narrow pool that has two statues on each end. Usually there’s tons of people there and they all want to watch me sketch but today I had the place all to myself (probably because we were having gale force winds!).
Then I did a spread with random things around the property that caught my eye like this neat statue…
