I’m so glad I made myself get out and enjoy this beautiful day! It was CRAZY windy but sunny and warm. At the Cheekwood gardens there’s a large mansion on the property and I’ve never been in it, but they have a big orchid display so I thought I’d go check it out and sketch. I hardly sketched the orchids 😂 but I sketched everything else. Below are the sketches I did there but first I’ll show you some pics of the place. I LOVED this pink room with the blue ceiling!
Is it weird that I feel proud of you for the limited amount of supplies you took? Haha! How did you find having less material this time, compared to what you normally pack for such a visit?
Love this garden visit! Reminds me of Longwood Gardens near me, a place that I love to go year round, but especially this time of year when everything looks kinda DEAD.
I love your sketches, I love that man-face pitcher spout, and I love that view with the pool- wow the colors are inspiring! Oh, and that lady in the painting, such an inspiring composition and that ORANGE lampshade in the background, so cool. I could feel a little bit what it was like to be there and take in all the beauty, and do some Arting! Lol
Loved the video and the blogging, I am absolutely in love with this new format, hope you keep it up along with YouTube. 😊 also: loved your sketches, I might even use your photos to try some of my own, too!
Awesome Sandi! We are blessed with some rare winter sunshine. We Western Oregonians take advantage of it whenever it happens. Someone is mowing a lawn...windows are open...lovely.
Lovely sketches! That pottery is gorgeous. 😍 How are you enjoying the Faber-Castell watercolour markers? I bought myself some for my birthday and I’m having fun playing with them!
This looks like it was a perfect inspirational outing :) I'm impressed with the the limited art supplies you took along but understand about protecting your back...very frustrating when they act up! It was helpful to see what you chose to take with you. Thanks for another awesome short video :)
What a great place the portraits are so fun. I’ll have to wait a few months for gardens with flowers here in the upper Midwest. This week I get piles of dirty snow. Let’s see what I can do with that.
