I’ve also had my eye on the pan pastels and your point about putting down large areas of color quickly, is all the justification I need to take my wallet back out. 😅
Loved the art haul! I’ve been eyeing those pan pastels at Plaza Art but didn’t want to spend the money on them since I’m such a beginner. So glad to see you use them. They seem to go down so nicely😍 I love that they aren’t so dust producing. Lol Putting those on my list for a future purchase.😁
I feel like I can't decide if I like them or not now after using them in one sketch. I'm sure I'll share more in the future if I end up liking them or not. I plan on using them more when I'm outside sketching
Nice! I only use Prismacolor but the Derwent Inktense and Luminance especially looks so richly pigmented. This is a really nice clean platform!! Is it easier to use than YouTube or why the switch?
Pretty colors! So... what does the % mean with the midnight blue pencil....? And- i guess with that pen oastell you need different tool for each color?.. looks like you cant really lose the previous color...
I agree with you about the Derwent Lightfast pencils. They have a different consistency than the Luminance pencils, maybe richer and more creamy. I bought a few of the colors you mentioned in your last YouTube video on favorite pencils. I also tried the two Holbein pencils and a few of the Derwent Colourfast penculs you mentioned, and liked those as well. I also have high praise for the Derwent Drawing pencil series. Love the muted colors, and the marks they can make over watercolor and ink.
I have about a dozen Panpastels and notice they are regaining in popularity in mixed media. I resisted buying the tools initially but am really glad I finally did. They’re relatively inexpensive, last awhile and help me get the most from them. Fun supplies!
You can use the pan pastels with special tools that you can buy separately or with some make-up sponges instead as you were using in this video. To clean the sponge, use paper towels and clean the tools on it by rubbing the sponge on the dry paper towel until you see it coming back clean.
I love the colours you got in both the pencils and the pan pastels, all very pretty.
so glad you're enjoying them Rossana! I am going back and forth on how I'm feeling about the pan pastels.

the larger area is nice but Im not loving working over them as much as I like working over my soft pastels - still can't decide if I like them or not

I havne't switched - still posting every other week on Youtube. Just going to use this space for shorter more casual videos instead of Instagram

the percentage just means its a lighter value. I think if you just wipe the tool off it would be fine - I just don't do that 🤪
A. Ohhhhh......
B. Well then..... 🤣
I have been wiping off my sponge and using it for other colors. Seems to be ok

oh man, I LOVE the Derwent Drawing - they're so wonderful!
Loved the haul, I'm still obsessed with color pencils and those blue colors look amazing. I’ve never heard of pan pastels but they look fun to try!
yes, the blues are really wonderful!

Thank you Sandi. I am enjoying getting the email letting me know you have a new video. Such a nice community to be in.
